An examination is made of the evaluations of second language lecturers of English for Academic purposes (EAP) and of the evaluations of Science lecturers at a South African historical black university (HBU). Preliminary is a textbook integrating a balance of skills and language and aimed at Intermediate students studying EAP (English for Academic Purposes) in a classroom context. His work addresses the intersections between critical literacy, functional grammar approaches, multimodality, and academic discourses in English for Academic Purposes (EAP) teaching and learning.
